At just 15 years old, Camden Chaffin of Grove City, Ohio, is already making his mark on professional pickleball.

What started during the COVID-19 pandemic as a family activity—with Camden playing using a wooden paddle—has developed into a remarkable journey through the competitive ranks of the sport.

​

Today, Camden is ranked No. 55 in the world on the professional pickleball circuit, balancing the demands of elite competition and daily training with his studies at Ohio Connections Academy.

FROM OHIO TO THE PRO CIRCUIT

 

Camden trains for hours each day in Ohio while also traveling to Kansas City for intensive sessions with his coach. That commitment is already producing impressive results.

​

Among his standout achievements, Camden has:

• Defeated the world No. 2 player in a major upset at the PPA Indoor National Championships.

• Reached the Top 10 in the APP Next Gen Men’s rankings.

• Climbed the professional rankings while still only in his teens.

• Competed against some of the most talented players in professional pickleball.

 

THE NEXT GENERATION OF OHIO PICKLEBALL

 

Camden is part of an exciting generation of young players demonstrating just how quickly pickleball is growing across Ohio.

He joins other emerging Ohio-connected professionals, including Carson “CJ” Klinger, from the Granville and Columbus area, who has also established himself as a standout young player on the professional circuit.
